When making a battlegrounds kinda grab should the animation be two different animations on each player or should It be one?
Also second question should the animation have the movement or should it be done through the script using velocities?
Should be two definitely. One for when the grab doesn’t make contact (misses), and once for the grab taking place.
-
Just the starting grab animation → for when it misses (MISS)
-
Combine the starting grab with the actual move animation → for when it hits (HIT)
-
No animation for the victim → bc it missed ofc (MISS)
-
Victim animation plays with 2 → when the grab hits the victim (HIT)
Depends, I recommend velocity, it’s more clean than animating the movement in the animation. If you do the movement in the animation, the player or victim don’t actually move, so at the end it’ll look weird having them tp back to where they where originally.
Tbf both of those answers were really helpful, but what I meant by 2 animations, is like if I’m animating on 2 rigs would they share one animation, or would they both have their respective animation that I play individually and like weld them together ig.
Wait kinda scratch that I’m pretty sure I’d need to have 2 different animations for each person
