BBR Host Handbook
Welcome to the BBR Host Handbook!
This handbook contains everything you need to know as a member of the BBR Hosting Team. It covers hosting procedures, staff expectations, perks, promotions, rules, and support resources.
All hosts are expected to read this handbook thoroughly and refer back to it whenever they are unsure about a policy or procedure. If you have any questions that are not answered here, contact Hosting Hotline or a Hosting HR.

📝 Hosting Requirements
All hosts are expected to meet the minimum hosting requirements each cycle. If you believe you are unable to do so, please follow the procedures outlined below.
Hosting Requirements
Every host must complete a minimum of 2 regular Big Brother seasons every two-week cycle.
To count towards requirements, a season must:
- Have a cast of 14 or more players.
- Be a regular season.
- Handpick seasons do not count towards requirements.
Inactivity Notices (IN)
If you believe you will be unable to complete your hosting requirements, you must submit an Inactivity Notice (IN).
IN Guidelines
- IN notices may only be submitted during the first week of the cycle.
- IN notices last for a maximum of two weeks, or until the end of the current cycle, whichever comes first.
- Double-check your start and end dates before submitting your IN. Incorrect dates will result in your request being denied.
- If you wish to end your IN early, inform a Hosting HR.
- Hosting while on an approved IN will result in a strike.
- IN notices may not be taken in back-to-back cycles.
Host Debt
If the IN deadline has passed and an unexpected circumstance prevents you from completing your requirements, you may open a Staff Support ticket and request Host Debt.
Host Debt Requirements
- 1 season completed: You must host 3 seasons during the following cycle.
- 0 seasons completed: You must host 4 seasons during the following cycle.
Host Debt:
- May not be taken in back-to-back cycles.
- Does not stack.
- Must be completed by the end of the following cycle, or you will be demoted.
🏅 Awarding Medals
Once your season has concluded, you are responsible for awarding medals through the GUI.
Failure to award medals may result in a warning or strike.
Medal Guidelines
- If you are unsure which medals to award, refer to the Medals Spreadsheet or ask Hosting Hotline or a Hosting HR.
- If you hosted a custom gamemode, ensure your medal prizes follow your rank’s permitted limits.
- If you wish to award Gold Medals for a custom gamemode, you must first receive approval from a Hosting HR.
📈 Promotions & Recognition
The Hosting Team offers several opportunities for progression. Promotions are based on meeting requirements, demonstrating professionalism, and consistently contributing to the team.
Host in Training → Host
To be eligible for promotion from Host in Training to Host, you must meet the following requirements:
- Host 16 or more regular Big Brother seasons.
- Be a member of the Hosting Team for at least 2 months.
- Receive one positive supervision from a member of Senior Staff.
Once you believe you have met the first two requirements, open a Staff Support ticket. A Hosting HR will arrange a supervision or process your promotion if you have already received one.
Host → Senior Host
Promotion to Senior Host is decided entirely by the Hosting Leadership Team and may take time.
Hosts looking to be promoted should aim to:
- Remain active and consistent.
- Maintain a professional attitude.
- Host high-quality, creative seasons.
- Continue contributing over a long period of time.
Hosting Leadership values long-term consistency, professionalism, and creativity over short bursts of activity.
Senior Host → Hosting HR
Promotion to Hosting HR is a long-term achievement and may take a year or more of consistent hosting and professionalism.
Strong candidates are typically:
- Active within the Hosting Team.
- Helpful and professional.
- Consistent with hosting seasons.
- Active in supervising Hosting Trials.
- Willing to assist with the growth of newer hosts.
When a Hosting Co-Lead position becomes available, these qualities are taken into consideration.
Monthly Recognition
At the end of each month, a Monthly Recognition Ceremony is held to celebrate the most dedicated, consistent, and creative hosts.
During each ceremony:
- A voting form is released for staff members to nominate their Host of the Month (HOTM).
- The HOTM receives a Robux prize.
- Additional recognition categories are selected by the Hosting HR Team.
📖 Rules & Regulations
As a member of the BBR Staff Team, your actions reflect upon the entirety of BBR. The following rules are expected knowledge for all hosts and must be followed at all times.
We recommend rereading this section regularly, along with previous host announcements, to stay up to date and avoid common mistakes.
Admin Commands
Unauthorized use of admin commands is strictly prohibited.
This includes:
- Checking logs without authorization.
- Checking player joins without authorization.
- Any other use of admin commands that is not necessary.
Admin commands may only be used when:
- They are required for your season.
- Permission has been given by the host or a Hosting HR.
Unauthorized use of admin commands will result in a strike.
Rigging & Advantages
BBR has a zero-tolerance policy on rigging.
Examples of rigging include:
- Providing contestants with unfair advantages.
- Illegitimately giving secret powers.
- Using private voice calls to benefit contestants.
If you are unsure whether a twist or power is fair:
- Open a Staff Support ticket before your season.
- Random powers should also be approved by a Hosting HR before your season.
Rigging your season may result in strikes or demotion.
Admin Permissions
Non-hosts should never be given admin commands.
If you are hosting Drag Race or Top Model, use :contestant instead.
Professionalism
All staff members are expected to remain professional at all times.
This includes:
- Following the server guidelines.
- Avoiding slurs in media.
- Using clear and professional hosting shouts.
- Refraining from ongoing toxicity or disruptive behaviour.
Unprofessional conduct may result in warnings, strikes, or demotion depending on the severity.
Logging Your Season
All hosting logs must include:
- The season title.
- The winner’s username or ping.
- The runner-up’s username or ping.
Display names are not accepted for the winner or runner-up. Failing to use usernames may result in a strike.
Additional logs or screenshots from your season are optional. However, if you create a logs server, we strongly recommend making a trusted BBR Staff member an administrator.
Ping Misuse
Only use pings when they are appropriate.
Permitted Pings
- @everyone — Once per season announcement.
- @here — Once when extending your season.
- @Reps — When you need a replacement and nobody is in the lobby.
- Other role pings — Only for their intended purpose, such as comebacks or polls.
You may only ping @everyone once and @here (if needed) once per season. Unnecessary or excessive pings may result in a strike for ping misuse.
🚨 Emergencies & Support
If you encounter an issue while hosting, there are several ways to receive assistance depending on the situation.
For general hosting questions, your first point of contact should be Hosting Hotline, where Senior Hosts can assist with standard hosting enquiries.
For more serious matters, such as hosting requirements, inactivity notices, or staff-related issues, open a Staff Support ticket to speak with a Hosting Lead or Hosting Co-Lead.
Mid-Season Emergencies
If you are unable to continue hosting your season:
- Ping @here in #host-chat and request a takeover.
- Do not leave your season until another host has arrived to take over.
Low Attendance
If you do not have enough players by your scheduled start time:
- Extend your season using an @here ping and include the new start time.
- If you still do not have enough players, reduce your season’s player count if possible.
- If your season is reduced to 11 players or fewer, only a Silver Medal may be awarded to 1st place.
- Cancelling your season should always be a last resort.
Replacements (Reps)
If you need a replacement during your season:
- Use the first player to say !help, or
- Use the Cast One Houseguest button in the GUI.
If no players are available in the audience, ping the @Reps role in #hostings.
Getting Help
If you are ever unsure about a rule, hosting procedure, or unusual situation:
- Contact Hosting Hotline for general hosting assistance.
- Open a Staff Support ticket for more serious matters or situations requiring HR approval.
When in doubt, always ask before acting. It is better to clarify beforehand than risk receiving a warning or strike.

As a member of the Hosting Team, you are expected to understand and follow the policies outlined throughout this handbook. While this guide covers the vast majority of hosting procedures, it may not answer every possible situation you encounter.
If you are ever unsure about a rule, hosting procedure, or unusual circumstance, please contact Hosting Hotline or a Hosting HR before proceeding. Asking for clarification is always better than risking a warning or strike.
