Beginning to make a development group

Hey everyone. I’ve been thinking about creating a development group for a while now, and just recently I created one! So far, I only have myself and @FreeModelInventor as the starting developers. I have led war groups before, so I know some amount of leadership in groups. However, this is a development group, and I feel like the experience is going to be much more different.

So here’s what I’m asking here:

  1. Where should I begin?
  2. Where and how should I look for developers?
  3. How should I pay them?
  4. What are efficient ways of organizing a development group?

Also, if you would like to help out on our current project, GATE, just message me here!

  1. You already have a good start. Try brainstorming game ideas with your team and set up an outline for development like what game elements to work on first and who should work on what.

  2. The dev forum is a good start.

  3. I recommend making your game on a group page so you can distribute the money earned easily to group/team members.

  4. Trello is good to organize ideas and can be seen / edited by your whole team. It’s also free.

I already started on a project, so that part is taken care of easily.

Also, wouldn’t making a game on a group page induce the chance for place stealing?

I think you can set privileges for who can work on it. If you don’t trust any of your team well enough to give them access to the full game then only allow yourself access.
