Many bestselling dynamic Heads on the Roblox Marketplace appear to bypass the official avatar head size limits, as defined by Roblox’s own documentation. These items visually and functionally mimic the “Half Head/Headless” look — despite exceeding or violating the standard size validation system — and as a result, they are undercutting legitimate Roblox bundle sales, including the Headless Horseman bundle currently on sale.
Numerous dynamic Head assets, currently ranking as Bestselling in the Marketplace, clearly violate Roblox’s documented size limits (especially height and depth). These heads often remove or drastically shrink the visible head, giving players a “headless” appearance. Because of this, they functionally replicate the appearance of the premium “Headless Horseman” bundle, which Roblox itself sells. This results in both rule inconsistency and economic impact, since these third-party heads are drawing buyers away from Roblox’s own limited bundle sales.
A first version of the validation was rolled out about 2 weeks ago, but a user quickly found a bug with it that affected a subset of items. The fix for that should be turned on within a couple of days. But basically even with this minor bug, it should not be possible currently to upload new heads that take advantage of this bypass.
After the new validation has stabilized a bit, we plan to find all existing items that used this bypass and remove them from the marketplace.
Does this apply to all half heads or just this particular type of “half head”? Because a cleaning of all the half heads in the marketplace would help visibility when it comes to actual heads as well as roblox made bundles.
My reply was focused on just the types of heads that use these extra polygons (“sticks” as the OP called them) to artificially inflate the bounding box size. That’s what the new validation is focused on.
Separately, we are also planning some larger overall changes to the expectations we have for dynamic heads. Expect some news soon about that in a separate devforum post.
I’d like to know exactly when you’ll add a new validation. I started seeing some heads being deleted but later restored.
People keep spamming these small heads, but I didn’t notice any changes yet.
We hit a snag on the rollout, so it’ll be next week (at least, that’s the plan). Then it’ll take some time after that to start the process of taking things off-market.
Hello! Apologies for the delay in response here. We’re actively working on this issue - please stay tuned. In the meantime, we’d like to consolidate this discussion into this forum thread: Dynamic Heads Bypassing Invisibility - #77 by bbatton
No updates on this and there are still people making millions daily spamming these heads that abuse low geometry to make them seem small. I saw some heads get deleted yesterday, obviously whatever validation you guys used on them works as they were all the same low geometry heads that are rampant currently. Any idea on when it will be implemented?
half heads are fine since they follow all the rules stated in roblox’s ugc policies, but this abuses a glitch in validation. No reason why this should be the state of the catalog currently.
