[Beta] Analytics: Introducing Your New Analytics Assistant

You’re right that if the input data comes from within the game itself, it might not be enough data. But knowing that Roblox has hundreds of millions of games, the AI could help small games improve by giving the insights learned from other similar games with similar stats when they were small but then grew.
For example, did those experiences with low DAU follow a niche of players? Did they focus on one or a combination of metrics (like focus on onboarding before you focus on economy, just to give a dumb example).

Won’t the assistant essentially just summarize the feedback already given to you? It won’t exactly help if a majority of the feedback is meaningless.

You don’t have to use a normal distribution all the time.

It’s really hard to grow my game up to something like 1000 DAU if the tools that help you grow (like this) are locked behind 1000+ DAU. My game sits at around 600 DAU, and I think that a tool like this would at least offer some guidance even if the data may be a bit iffy. Much more than trying to understand all the graphs and whatnot as you guys mentioned in the original post.

Funnily enough, the feedback assistant doesn’t tell me “never make a game again”, “this game is trash”, “delete your game”, “get a better game”

Just tried the feature out for feedback- really cool feature and saves a lot of time spent having to download the report, put it in something like Google Sheets, and analyze on your own/with other AI tools.

Games with <100 feedback probably ought to be just reading each of their players feedback individually, because people are taking a lot of time to write specific things and detail is important to connecting with your audience.

For larger experiences, the ability to have a summary or aggregate is the only way to sift through so much data. Thank you!

Not the exact thing you are after, but one workaround is to download the feedback report of the period you are looking at, and import that spreadsheet into Google Sheets or something similar. After that, I know that Gemini works directly within Google Sheets and you can seek more detailed information from it in your query to it.

Can’t wait for the assistant to tell me “make your game less trash” based on the feedback from my players…

“Trash game” is such constructive and helpful feedback right :sob:

This seems like an awesome addition though. I do spend a bit of time looking through my performance and other analytics.

It should never say something so rude, if it does you should let me know

From me to you, you’re a good developer who cares about your games. Try not to even consider those.

Will AI make recommendations on how to improve metrics, etc.? Right now it seems to me that it just detects and describes, but doesn’t offer concrete actions

Does it work for UGC analytics as well?

Still kinda should because only 1% of the people that read the announcement can actually use it. Had it been available for everyone then yeah it would be good. Small games looking to grow their game and analytics truly need this most, yet don’t have access

The Studio teams and the Creator Hub teams are probably almost completely unrelated

I guess… but if you have like 3 feedback saying “Mid game” then the assistant can’t do much to help. I do agree if your game has over 100 feedback though as then it would maybe have some useful feedback in there.

I think over 100 feedback is enough for some good feedback that the assistant could use.

My post was mainly targeted at people hating just because it is AI. This AI is only helpful and doesn’t take away anyones job. You could make the argument that the other assistants could take jobs but this assistant is very good.

we havent heard anything new for studio updates.

Asking on an unrelated update post won’t get you anywhere. It’s just the ebb and flow of releases. We just recently had a few new beta features that probably needed the involvement of the Studio teams, and they’re probably still chugging along on re-writing all of the UI.

I’ve been Beta testing this for a while and it’s helped us a ton!

I’m so glad that everyone will be able to use this now, it’s a real game changer.

Still no search bar for animation assets.

The issue with AI is that companies have oversaturated both the featureset as well as use cases of AI to such an extreme extent, that people are just generally scared/annoyed when they hear those 2 letters

Had they just stopped when they realized the implications of GenAI past text and the very first iteration of image generation, it wouldn’t have been that bad
