We could use a property to forcefully cull billboardguis after a distance. A simple solution.

I suppose I can try to use this alternate solution in the meantime: In FilteringEnabled = true, I can make players’ LocalScripts loop through player character heads and toggle the billboards based on magnitude distance from their own head or camera.
