Biomes Obby - Devlog (it released like 2 months ago but here it is!)

UPDATE: 09-07-2026 (DD/MM/YY)

I finished this but i couldnt update the post because my account was silenced, but im here again happy as ever. So, the game, in my opinion, was a success, and one of my dreams finally is true! I finally got a game with consistent CCU.

You can still join and feedback me here, though, Im 100% sure theres something i haven’t seen that could be improved

I think I’ll make a devlog here to show my current progress in the game.

And also for individual biomes feedback I’ll also post them separately in another thread.
So, before showing you any screenshots, I’ll link all the other posts of biome feedbacks:

Now, I’ll show 2-4 images per biome here. (I recommend seeing the posts for them, since they are a little large)

Forest:

Caves: (it has many zones so i recommend you seeing the post for it)

Desert:

Toxic Wastelands:

Farmlands:

Enchanted Forest:

Halloween:

Storm Mountains:

Skylands:

(here you’ll see less fog to see better)

City:

Beach:

Sea:

Christmas Winterlands: (i’ll add more images later)

Candylands:

I’ll tell you some game mechanics
The UI changes depending on the biome you are
The music, the lighting, too
The biomes are pretty large even if it has less than 20 stages.
There’s a daily reward system that gives you free skips
There’s a currency named “Explorer Points” with it you can buy decorative pets that follow you.
That’s it, there may be more mechanics later. I designed with love these biomes so I hope on release you play them

Also, the game will not be public for testing until there’s like 1 biome left. But I’ll think if I do it public for all the group members of it. I’ll not currently share the link, but if you are smart enough you’ll find what is the creator group of it

So, I hope you liked this showcase!

disclaimer really small:
also guys there’s a ton of moving parts, rotating parts, parts that when you touch disappear/get to the size of an atom then resize again, moving killing parts. But i will still add more of other type of obstacles.
If you see some stages where there is nothing, its because its a client sided stage. I usually put my client sided things in replicated storage, and also some static parts in the images are actually rotating/moving parts

The colors in the biomes make it look really good, usually I’m not really into that low poly style because I get tired of seeing it in every Roblox game but the way you utilize it actually makes it look amazing. The only reason I wouldn’t play it is because I personally don’t play obby’s anymore but besides that, it looks really good, and I wish you good luck with your game. :+1:

So i finished off the city’s buildings. that’s basically a +5% completion, now just making stages

I think it looks great client object wise but I think you should add better raw gameplay + client objects

Devlog - 2

Big updates here
I completed all the monetization (5 gamepasses and 6 dev products)
And also remade a new donations board because looks like the earlier one had some bad scripts
The only system left is the badges one, but i’ll do it when all my biomes are done

Also, i advanced in the city and it’s like 50% completed. The thing that’s stopping me from working faster is the lack of ideas. But yeah it’s normal in obbies where you need to be creative

So, the game itself is like 60% completed, just one small system left and the biomes, and it’ll be ready

So, the city today will be 100% completed, only 4 stages left and the polish (decorations, etc)

and i’ll try to continue on the beach biome faster since that’ll be way easier, maybe today also a 20%+ completion of that

The city is 100% completed!

These colorful light blue and white vines at the skylands actually took up to 2 million triangles, what the hell. It’s an official mesh from roblox, but looks like it’s a little outdated, I deleted it hopefully, now I’m gonna just make some blocky vines there that will take less

forsaken ahh mesh

The detail in obby is amazing! Is this your favorite creation? How long did it take you to make. It looks nice and cool! I rate it a 9.5/10! Great work. Keep the the progress. Can’t wait for the updates!

Wow! Your post is highly well done and cool! How long did it take you to make? It is highly well done and cool! I rate it a 10/10. Good j*b.

Wow! Thanks!

Yes. Wow!

The whole thing, i started doing it in july of 2025, but i had very long breaks between because i was busy in other things. maybe total time is about 1-2 months

Also, i had a break but now its time to w*rk.

i had to optimise the city biome really much because it was at 20 fps (however 20 fps in my potato 4gb computer, in normal ones it’s normal) in my computer. I changed the hills completely for ones with less polygons/triangles, and some decorations were removed (but others with less triangles were added) and a stage was reworked because it looked ugly and disgustingg

So, the main problem of the lag were the buildings, there are 59 builds (not including the big ones) with around 200 parts inside each one. You can see why it was so laggy. So I converted them into just 3 meshes and the recolored base part, and now it was only 4 parts.
It improved the fps like x3
And I optimised the triangles from 1.1 million to just 300k in the whole map

my main problem is that you’re just jumping from platform to platform and avoiding the occasional lava block here. there’s not really a whole lot of variation or anything to set it apart from most other obbies on roblox. try making some custom mechanics for this, it would go a long way

Thanks but i think there’s many lava blocks it’s just that the images don’t show more here. When i complete everything, i’ll first change some stages to client sided mechanics, and then optimise everything to the most i can. Thanks for the feedback, though!

If you see some stages where there is nothing, its because its a client sided stage. I usually put my client sided things in replicated storage

also the farmlands will get some level reworks because it seems too repetitive

If there are a ton of moving parts (more than 50+ probably) I recommend you to add distance culling.

guys i took a break again and also i wanted to work first on optimise most scripts because some of them were trash

and also i’ll optimise most of the meshes because a lot of them are in collisionfidelity default i’ll put them into box

also the hard thing about making new biomes is the design ideas, that’s why im a little slow on creating them
