In the bottom left, go to Add, then Lamp and insert any of those to fit your scene.

well never mind my blender just crashed and i’m just done for today i’ll try this tomorrow although the issue only occurs when i render the scene

Your render looks different from your viewport because you were likely using LookDev mode, meaning that you didn’t need to add any lights in order to get a well-lit scene. The Eevee LookDev view is different from the final render because Eevee automatically applies a default HDRI to the scene, which adds a lot of light. An HDRI is basically an image that acts as the sky, and light is projected from it onto the model as if the natural light was coming from that sky.

The two highlighted buttons at the top right of the viewport seen in this image are LookDev view (left) and Rendered view (right) -

Untitled

LookDev is the one you were using, and Rendered view is what the final image will look like. It’s definitely confusing at the start since the Rendered view doesn’t reflect what you see in the LookDev view.

This is a good tutorial on how to render using the lighting provided by the LookDev mode, and this is another great tutorial on how to upload your own image files to use as an HDRI. Both are fairly quick ways to get the lighting conditions you were originally working with in LookDev mode.
