Bloxy Marble Racing | Short Guide

Mechanics

Tricking

To perform a trick (or jump boost): tap the jump button, press Space or (A for Xbox, X for PlayStation) on your controller, while on any upwards slope or ramp, which will make you jump higher.

As you do this, you’ll hear a sound and stars will briefly appear around your Marble.

On landing, you’ll gain a small speed boost!
(P.S. On mobile and controller, you’ll also feel a haptic!)

Slipstreaming

Stay close to and behind another racer for ~1-2 seconds to gain a temporary speed boost.

As you do this, you’ll hear a distinctive wind noise and wind particles will emerge from your Marble (both intensify as you start to slipstream).

Items

There are currently 6 items in Bloxy Marble Racing:

Hitting an item crate on the track will give you a random item (the chances of obtaining a stronger item are higher the lower your place).

To use your item, tap the ‘Use’ button, press the ‘Q’ key or (RB) on a controller.

Progression

Scores & Ranks

You gain Score depending on your placement in a race; the maximum Score you can earn per race is 32 and the lowest is 4 (based on how many players you raced with and their places).

If your Score is high enough, you may earn a place on the monthly score leaderboard!
You can check by selecting the ‘Scores’ menu in the main menu.

Your Rank is based on your Win to Loss ratio shown the ‘Stats’ menu, which can be accessed by selecting the ‘Stats’ badge in the main menu.

The more Wins you have compared to your Losses, the higher your Rank.
The more Losses you have compared to your Wins, the lower your Rank.
Tip: Leaving the game mid-race counts as a Loss!

There are 4 ranks:

The ‘Stats’ menu also shows other stats such as the number of tricks you’ve made and the number of times you have gone out-of-bounds (across all modes).

Marbles & Coins

You earn the same number of Coins as you do Score (except VIPs which get 1.5x more Coins per race)

As you accumulate Coins, you will unlock different Marbles you can race with. Currently there are 25 marbles that can be unlocked this way.
Marbles can also be unlocked by playing BMR daily.

VIP (and other future gamepasses) can be purchased from the main menu.

Before you join the race queue, you are prompted to select the Marble you would like to race with. You can also redeem codes here.

Modes

Missions

In Missions, you can select out of currently, 5 (more to come soon!) Missions to play.

Completing a mission sets a personal record, which you can view by selecting the Mission (which also allows you to start the mission).

Depending on the Mission selected, the usual flag in the top-left corner will change to a different icon.

The flag has changed to an Item Crate here as an Item Crate Mission was selected.

You will see a timer instead of your place while in a race. If you finish before the Mission’s time limit, the stopwatch will stop and show your finishing time.

You are not able to gain Rank, Score or Coins in Missions.

To enter Missions, select the ‘Missions’ badge while in the main menu.
This will teleport you to a different place.

To teleport back to the main game: press the ‘Back’ button or (B for Xbox, O for PlayStation) on a controller.
Tip: If you’re on the course preview screen, you have to do this twice.

Time Trials

In Time Trials, you can select any course in the game you would like to practice.

When you select a course, a preview of the course appears where you can start the Time Trial and view your personal record.

If you finish the course, the game will show the result you obtained in the Time Trial and your personal record.

You will see a stopwatch instead of your place while in a race. If you finish before the 3-minute limit, the stopwatch will stop and show your finishing time.

You are not able to gain Rank, Score or Coins in Time Trials.

To enter Time Trials mode, select the ‘Trials’ badge while in the main menu.
This will teleport you to a different place.

To teleport back to the main game: press the ‘Back’ button or (B for Xbox, O for PlayStation) on a controller.
Tip: If you’re on the course preview screen, you have to do this twice.

Spectate Mode

If you join the queue while a race is in progress, Spectate Mode will automatically start.

Tip: If the race is still getting ready, you may see a “Please wait…” screen for a few seconds before being allowed to spectate.

While in Spectate Mode: tap the screen, press Space, or (A for Xbox, X for PlayStation) on a controller to cycle through racers.

A heads-up display will appear at the bottom of the screen showing the current racer’s name, Score and Rank.
