Bold Text Should Be Bolder

I’ve been using the forum recently, on everyone’s /j favorite theme, Roblox Dark. But as a developer who wants to get information, usually sourced from a post or topic quickly without reading its entirety, which may not be important to me.

However, as of late, bold or strong text hasn’t been cutting it for me, or many other developers. It almost looks just like the regular text, and I struggle to see the difference.

I propose that a customization option or a default setting for this font should be built into the forum. This allows developers like me to access information by skimming through text that other developers highlight, making the reading experience more effective.

If you don’t see what I mean, I have the following six terms bolded in the text above: important, bold, strong, customization option, default setting, effective.

This seems to affect all themes too, but Roblox Dark is the most affected and I can sort of tell a lot easier when I use a theme like “Grey Amber”, but it is not the ideal reading background for my eyes.

For now an alternative is using hashtags (#) before paragraphs. The smaller you want it to be, the more hashtags.

I think you can even make small text

Yes, you can make text smaller!

But for existing posts before the Builder font was introduced, bold text inline does not appear bold enough.

It is also impossible to change the font boldness inline. In addition, the larger text is just larger; it doesn’t solve the issue or change how bold it is, just the size. The paragraph below which has been enlarged has the same issue:

Test bold ital

In this situation, the larger text still makes it hard to see bolded words.

I find that using the normal dark mode instead of the Roblox dark mode improves it a little? I don’t think it’s as noticeable as in light mode but its certainly an improvement.

Yes, that’s the point. Bold text is not consistent across themes, and it is hard to even tell whether text is bolded or not.
