Bones not deforming mesh


I’m gonna be honest I mostly have no idea what I’m doing but I’m trying to deform my mesh with bones but I have no clue what I’m doing. Also it’s in Blender, I’m trying to make a posable R6 rig. I just have no clue what I’m doing or why it’s not working. Note the hierarchy on the righthand side.

I followed this tutorial but I am not really getting anywhere.

As what I am known to bones are made to the character’s limbs.
What limbs are you trying to move?
If you are going to add limbs please add them before adding bones.

There are limbs but they’re hidden as I’m trying to just figure out how to use deformation in blender on just the torso for now.

I think you have to add more than just the torso.
The torso is only one part of the body.
Even thought what kind of deform you wanna do? Twist ? Bend?

Just any type of deformation, just wanna get it working. I’ll try with more parts though

Did you parent it?(Ctrl+p).
If you parent it when you move the bones the mesh will move with it and eventually deform.
