He did make it double-sided, and he used solidify modifier in the blender, so the problem is in something other.

First make sure the normals are consistent. You can do that using the Matcap Normal material. If its messed up it looks like this:
The option is in the top right of the 3D view:
Since you’ve solidified, try turning off Double Sided.
Also try making the solidify thicker.
this is usually because of the glass material being weird. i assume you’re using glass?
what does the mesh look like without double sided on
The normals are inverted.
If ya do this then you can see which faces are/aren’t inverted. The faces marked with red are inverted.
