we are still really far from being like dprk. a little bit of a stretch to compare us to something that can be considered as the most restrictive country on the planet (with the only competitor to that place being probably turkmenistan or afghanistan)
the very fact we’re still chatting here with you is a proof of that.
but we do seem to be getting the chinese treatment from roblox atm.
The government doesn’t care whether there’s a team create or not. They block everything without any valid reasons, lol. Roblox doesn’t understand this and thinks it was unblocked because of their silly merits.
It IS known. 242 FZ is a law that requires companies to store personal data of Russians in servers/datacenters physically located in Russia.
Just in case if comrade major does not like what you said to his kid
If ROBLOX moves servers/datacenters to Russia, they will be flooded with international sanctions.
There are still problems when using VPN or a new account.
Like, lack of same plugins as in main account, which some of them might be paid for real money (rather than ROBUX, as it used to be).
If you didn’t buy plugins with ROBUX, you will have to use a foreign card that EXACTLY matches your account location. Else ROBLOX won’t make the purchase go thru as an anti-fraud measure.
VPN. It heavily depends on who and where you are getting it from.
If you choose free VPNs from Google Play or App Store, slow speed is guaranteed and ROBLOX might still find your actual location.
But, if you choose a trusted paid VPN that you found on the internet, location change will happen most of the time. Not for me though.
My account has been stuck on Russia since the day they implemented IP-based account location rather than having it set via settings manually. or for short, since 2023ish.
We were planning to make a couple of fun games with our friends. Now, as it turns out, we can’t, and there’s not really a workaround for this that is worthwhile.
I don’t know how long this restriction will last. The trusted friends function doesn’t function as it should. I’m not going to “express myself” over here, but this really stinks and makes me want to rip my hair out.
Let’s make the problem more apparent so something happens.
I was wrong. they actually CAN host a server in Russia. But, what I think is actually stopping them are the sanctions. ROBLOX cant earn any money from Russians, as Russia has been banned from SWIFT ever since the ongoing war.
My head genuelly hurting from this. I cannot normally collaborate with people because of these restrictions. I wanna give up and leave this platform already. Income is no more because Roblox cares about investors more than their developers, in which they actually blame last time since Roblox got sued. I see no hope of this platform, it can stay dead in a way that there’s no communications for Russian people at all.
