Broken packages in Studio.

Whenever I join one of our places in Studio the package detects something random & inconsequential that has been changed in our packages automatically.

Everything is still present & functional inside the package, but it makes syncing between places VERY difficult because:

  • It often soft-locks the entire studio-session if I try to “revert”.
  • It often sock-locks the entire studio-session if I try to “sync” it to the most-recent version in an ecosystem where it auto-changed something.

This started happening a few weeks ago.

Expected behavior

Fully functional packages like a few weeks ago.

Thanks for reporting the issue. We are looking into a issue with the TexturePackContent property triggering these modifications. If you open the Compare Package Versions, do you see a modification on a TexturePackContent property?

  • Change Summary doesn’t seem to work, so it’s quite difficult to figure out what’s been modified.

We have temporarily restricted the use of Packages to only data module folders.

  • As you say, it seems to effect all packages where textures are included.

This has also been affecting me for some time now.
Here’s a video of me triggering the changes on a package which hasn’t had any actual changes made to it, in case it helps: Roblox Package Change Bug - Clipped Roblox Studio with Medal.tv

Meant to reply to @jemkart50

Hey @Aizai, we did make a change that addressed a cause of this issue connected to textures. Would you be able to confirm if this issue is still occurring for you on the latest update?

Hi @PraedythTimelost, it is still occurring for me on the latest update. But, now the “Undo changes to package” option is no longer there when it does occur: Roblox Package Change Bug Update - Clipped Roblox Studio with Medal.tv

Thanks for the update @Aizai! That helps narrow things down a lot!
