Hey there, I was browsing the Developer Docs and noticed that buffer is a missing primitive type in the possible types returned by the type function.
I was just wanting to put in my 2 cents and hopefully get it added here. Thanks!
I was wanting to contribute to the official GitHub repository by forking and cloning and whatnot, but I was in a hurry and thus didn’t have time to do all of this, so I was wanting to post it here instead. Sorry if it is a hassle.
Edit: To show that it is in fact a type returnable by the function, simply run this in Studio’s command bar, and it will show buffer in the console:
It only says the buffer primitive is an addition from Luau, and not Lua not that the other previous primitive types are. I think this is pretty apparent to anyone reading this. Misread your post, my mistake.
If I use a phrase like “New cereal flavour, asbestos free!”, it sounds suspicious because it implies that the previous flavours had asbestos in them by specifically calling attention to that fact, even when it wasn’t unique.
“Here’s your third drink option. I did not poison this”
“We have Audis, Chevys, and Aston Martins. Audis do not explode in the rain from our testing”
“We have 90 GSM and 120 GSM thick paper for you to choose from. Writing on the 90 GSM paper with a pencil leaves a graphite trail”
