Dear creator,

Thanks for bringing up this issue. Am I right in understanding that the issue here is that groups are impersonating successful UGC creators because their creations are showing up in catalog when you search by creatorName?

This is expected due to this change to catalog that was released early in January this year.

The user you mentioned, Meowest does not have any creations at all according to this url.

If you suspect of any group intentionally impersonating you or some other popular UGC user creator, feel free to file an abuse report following the instructions I outlined in that post above.

Thank you once again.

This user does have creations, they are just currently offsale since they’ve run out of premium. At the time this hadn’t been the case-- Nonetheless, I kind of feel your missing the point.

I think this issue resides more in the fact that creators have no control over which groups show up under their username - for example, this group under the same name as powastro can easily overwrite their recently updated items, without having any association with them.

Personally, I love this update, and I think it’s a great addition to the catalog, but at the moment it can be easily abused to add items to peoples stores without their consent.

Expected Behavior

Some kind of control or alliances system for groups you’d like to partner with under the same store? Just some kind of permission that can be granted for people to have this access. At the moment this seems like it can be easily abused to impersonate/add items to large creators catalogs without their permission.

If you are really concerned about creations from group showing up alongside your creations, please add a CreatorType=1 to the query url when generating the link that showcases your creations. Something like this: https://www.roblox.com/catalog?Category=1&CreatorName=Bad_B0y&CreatorType=1&salesTypeFilter=1

This has been explained in detail in the post i linked above.

While this is a temporary solution, when searching for the same user (in this example powastro) on the default catalog search it’ll show alongside all their other items.

I think it’d be better to have a system in place for this change to be integrated correctly. Users can set alliances for groups that show up under their own store, or at the very least disable this feature.

Really anybody can create a group with the same name as another persons username. It seems very easy to abuse this feature.
