Building a restaurant, progress updates Feedback & criticism please!

I’m currently building a restaurant role-play game, this is day 2 of working on it. I want honest feedback and thoughts please!

This build is clearly not finished, there is a long way to go.

Alright here’s my feedback.

The good:

  • Short distance to walk through to where everyone hangs out
  • Low part count which is good for low-end PCs
  • It’s easy to remember where is where

Things I am concerned about:

  • If you plan this game to be a large hangout game, I would suggest making the map bigger in the future. I know I said small map is good earlier but it’s for walking to the “main place”
  • The floor can be more detailed. Such as adding slight variation colors. Or having a brick like structure to the floor.
  • Please organise your explorer. It won’t affect the players but it WILL make your life easier. I notice your pillars right below workspace
  • Avoid using free models. They are good for reference but you should learn to make your own if you want it to be your style. Unless if the model is too complex.
  • Make the text on the stairs thinner. Make them cancollide off.
  • The floor looks misaligned

Overall it’s really good and I can sense positivity if this project takes off.

Please reply if i need to know some extra stuff

Thank you for your reply, constructive criticism like this was exactly what I’m looking for. The table free model was just a starting point, I needed a reference to appropriately size the table. The floor is indeed slightly misaligned, I’m correcting most of it. Some will remain as is due to them being in a union and I’m just not willing to take that much time to realign the flooring. (as of right now)

I’ll be posting another update later tonight, I look forward to more tips from others on what can be done better to make the restaurant’s build more appealing to the public.

I’ve been pretty busy working on this, I haven’t made a build this large or in depth in about a year. I’ve been fiddling with modeling and building but I haven’t worked on anything of this magnitude in quite awhile.

Since my first post, I’ve added quite a bit.

As stated previously, this is a work in progress with a long way to go. There are clear imperfections that I am actively working on. I’m seeking constructive criticism that can help make the build more appealing to the public.

If you are interested in my group, or monitoring my progress when play testing begins, please join Reysos Kitchen - Roblox and Reysos Kitchen! I’m actively looking for experienced administrators to help manage my group.

I’ve opened the game for anyone interested in play testing. It is currently set to beta mode and only accessible to group members. To play the game, you must join the group beforehand. You are more than welcome to leave the group afterwards if you so wish to do so.

Grills, behind the front desk, behind the stools, fridges, and the call admin feature are all rank-locked to the server group rank and above. If I notice you’ve replied to this post, and are in the group I will rank you to Server, therefore if you chose to further playtest this game, restricted areas can be accessed.

Looks nice, you should add legs for the main flooring otherwise it looks bad for just the dock to have it.

I’m a week in or so, and just about finished with the main build. I need to start modeling drinks, and look for someone to model food items.

Here’s the changes since my last update:

Fridges Added
Some UI elements, like a fully functional in-game ranking menu, and a fully functional admin call button that sends a notification to all in-game admins
More grills
Changes to lobby
Changes to high-top stools
Some detail perfection

This restaurant looks very good! Nice job on it! I rate it 9/10! You should make the roof of the top a bit more solid since it does not really look solid. Otherwise, it looks good! Nice job on it, it is cool!

Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate any feedback from anyone, as it helps me make my experience more appealing to the general audience. I’ll tweak the roof and see what I can do to make it more substantial.

I got a few things

    1. The UI Needs some more help
    1. Needs more background pictures
  • That’s all

Are roleplay restaurant games still a thing with the new chat updates?

Thank you! I’m commissioning someone for the UI, I made it myself as more of a placeholder than anything, simply to script the back end.

They can be if you know what you’re doing. It requires some extra effort, including creating a serving system that does not require you to chat.
