Building Improvement

So, I’ve been building on the platform for a few years now, but as of recent my skill gain has seemed to come to a standstill in terms of improvement.

I cannot 3D Model, nor can I program with Lua, so building is one of the things I take seriously. I was wondering if anybody here has any feedback on how I can keep improving my building.

I’ve had some ideas, and I want to know which of these you think will work best:

  • Get a picture of a building in the real world and try to make it inside of Studio.
  • Try and remake some areas of other Roblox games (For personal improvement only).
  • Get one of my friends who is rather skilled in building to try and teach me more about it.
  • Just build random things that come to mind.

If you have any more ways I can improve, please let me know.
Any and all feedback/support is helpful. Thanks.

If you need to see building I’ve done recently then let me know. I will edit the original post to include some pictures.

So many posts have been made on this in the past week. Yes, please add your work into the post so we can see your skill level.

I have edited the post to include some screenshots of my builds that I made in the last few months.

Mmm been there, that standstill hit me for like a solid year caused me to not want to develop, I find that if you don’t find something to you find fun to do then it tends to cause your skills to stay at one spot.

not bad but the map need more building and also landscape and what kind of game do you make anyway…

Yeah, that might be it. I’ve been trying to work on a project, but keep restarting after finding that what I made didn’t suit my liking. I think that the fact that I’ve restarted so many times may have contributed to me falling behind in my progress.

Those are all screenshots from different builds I made. I don’t intend to include any of them in actual games.

oh that why… anyway do the good job. :+1:

Trust me been down that hole, you keep finding that you dislike some part or just the flow of the build so you scrap some or most of it and restart but your will to continue lowers each time.

It’s hard not to have your moral lower sometimes but I usually tend to start doing part by part when it comes to that, maybe ill do one piece like a arm and then take a break then come back to it later.

Thank you for the advice. I will try putting this strategy into play the next time I work on something.

No problem, good luck on your future builds

i think first you must have a picture in your mind of what you will try to build(because i do that), and then draw them out. it doesn’t matter it has to be in the real world or not, what matters is what you want to build. if you have time, you can visit other’s work. Hope this can help you. BTW, i like your work :+1:

Alright. Thank you for the advice, all of it is helpful.

Try adding some more light outside, so that everybody will see what is going on around them.

But I like all of the work that you had done, keep up the good work!

Everything looks pretty nice but in the last picture i suggest adding invisible light blocks or something to make the lighting better. Still great work bud.
