As we shared last week, we want to create a safer, more consistent Marketplace for all avatar creators by unifying the requirements for 2D and 3D items. However, we’ve heard your frustration around the financial barrier for creating 2D items, and we’re taking it seriously.
We’re adjusting the upfront costs for uploading (80 Robux for 2D and 3D) and publishing (10 Robux for 2D), while keeping the broader requirements.
Starting July 14, 2026, the baseline requirements for 2D and 3D avatar items will be:
To upload an avatar item
- Verification: Requires ID verification or a linked parent account
- Cost: 80 Robux per item for both 2D and 3D avatar items
To publish an avatar item for sale
- Verification: Requires ID verification or a linked parent account, plus 2-step verification enabled
- Membership: Requires an active Plus or Premium subscription
- Publishing advance:
- 2D avatar items: stays at 10 Robux
- 3D avatar items: no change to current publishing advances by category
We’ll continue to focus on building a safer and more consistent Marketplace, while making sure it’s beneficial for all of you who make the Marketplace valuable in the first place.
