Building Stronger Protections and a More Consistent Marketplace: Unifying 2D and 3D Avatar Item Publishing

oh my god i know right
“lack of viral games” let us make games then what were you expecting
actually annoying that this company makes it progressively harder to create and publish games and then point the finger at us when developers get discouraged from making their games
of course they’re gonna face huge losses when they lock game publishing behind harvesting your face data and ID, paywalls, and an insanely unrealistic player quota just to get your game playable for all ages

You are 100% accurate and couldnt have said it any better! Whats even sadder is there are a few clowns defending this update.

30 day Holding, revenue from site purchases (game revenue is fine being a 3 way split) i don’t see why you would feel the need to take the extra 30% from creators? Originally I didn’t see the harm since you play the word game so well however this is a negative change and site-purchases should be a 70-30 split between Creator/Roblox. you already forced smaller creators to move from onsite to offsite advertising with social media posting. I don’t see how you think hurting the small creators that you obviously so rely on for innovation is a positive?

There has been 0 reason for me to return to clothing development; I did it 11ish years ago and continued on and off however this just put the nail in the coffin unless I go into 3d clothing assets or heavy AI usage on the 2d ones. it just isn’t sustainable atp. I’m happy for the major clothing groups that are still around and creating since they’re established, but this is horrible news for anyone who is beginning.

I’ll stick to creating scripts and plugins and cross my fingers some of these changes will be reverted.

There isn’t even a reason for me to make tutorials on clothing design to pass down my knowledge since you guys are just obliterating any reason for a new designer to learn. Most normal users don’t have 1$ of robux to upload one shirt or one pants item. Very disappointing.

Not to mention the fact you have to pay 80 robux to upload an item, then another 10 just to put it up for sale. Meaning it costs 90 robux and your selling it for 5 robux for example like many classics, and you only get 30% of 5 robux. Really?

Those were my thoughts exactly. It costs more to upload and you get less profit from selling items?

And I agree with what you say about ID. A LOT of people quit roblox when you had to verify just to talk in games. As not everyone trusts the company.

I understand the upload and publishing fees since moderation costs money but it’s very bad how they’ve worked out the revenue percentage
