The item in question is an avatar head that becomes fully invisible under specific conditions, particularly when the user’s graphics settings are set to level 8 or higher. This invisibility occurs because, at these graphics levels, Roblox optimizes performance by removing the ColorMap from the SurfaceAppearance, inadvertently rendering the head invisible.
This head also violates the terms of service for UGC Dynamic Heads due to the following reasons:
Unfair Advantage in PvP Scenarios: Invisible avatars can evade hitbox detection, providing players with unintended advantages in player-versus-player interactions. This undermines fair play and disrupts game balance.
Reference: Roblox Marketplace Policy, specifically the clause: “Making a user’s avatar disappear (completely or partially).” This clearly prohibits the sale of such items.
Interference with User Interface Elements: A fully transparent or invisible head can conceal essential UI components, such as display names and health bars, hindering player interactions and communication.
Final edit: After a private conversation with the OP, I’ve decided to step down. I apologize for any inconvenience and drama this post may have caused. I’m still growing as a person, and we all make mistakes. I think I just got caught up in the heat of the moment and excitement by posting this which was very unprofessional. I will leave the original content up for transparency, but it may be disregarded.
I’m reposting this because the previous report got deleted without explanation. I feel like someone is trying to silence me and hide something. I just wanted to make sure nothing suspicious is going on here. I’m taking a stand for what I feel is right.
With all due respect, I don’t really see a problem here. I’d say the real issue is that it mimics headless; An invisible head doesn’t provide an unfair advantage. I question the intentions of the original OP because it seems more like a personal attack at a big creator than a report. If it was appealed, you shouldn’t immediately take a jab at a team. Most big creators have a direct line of communication to DevRel, so there’s probably a reason why it’s back. Out of curiosity, what reason did appeals give for the head being reinstated (if you can say)?
This is more of a client-sided graphics bug, so the creator might’ve not intended for this behavior. Roblox should work on patching this method instead of manually deleting these types of items. This situation should be handled more appropriately with private reports. I’m honestly surprised reports regarding moderation are allowed. The category doesn’t cover moderation.
Edit: I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal for me to post this if there’s nothing to hide. I highly advise Roblox to closely investigate the DSA reports regarding this matter.
Was going to mention as Roman said - transparency is no longer allowed with heads, which is likely by design. Otherwise, users can abuse this feature and create translucent heads that appear non-rendering to users with low graphic settings.
Correction- It is transparent, but only appears fully transparent in low graphics settings. In either situation in which this item appears to players, the validation requirements had long changed since this item was uploaded, and by those standards it shouldn’t of been allowed for a while.
From what i’ve seen Roman has been trying to get said item taken down because a Roblox glitch allows the item to be headless. The item itself doesn’t violate tos, nothing about it says it makes your head invisible.
There isn’t a way to know if it’s intended by the creator or not, it was uploaded as a glass head, it looks like a glass head. The only issue with it is when you change the graphics which is an issue on Roblox’s end not the creators.
Confirming that the bundle is indeed in violation of our transparency policy and has been removed.
We’ve also patched some gaps in our appeals system that result in its resurfacing. This is still very much a WIP as we work to fix unintentional restorations.
Thank you for your patience, feedback and reports as we work through this.
