I want to make a game and I want to take some models since I am not a modeler, I saw that Unity has a lot of free assets so I was wondering if I can use their free models without any copyright
You should be asking this to the asset creator for that Unity asset. Not here.
Additionally, you can also have a look at creator’s licensing terms regarding that asset.
If you’re taking things without permission from the creator, I can guarantee you that the creator will be pissed off at you and will use his rights to take down your game.
Don’t use people’s opinions here as a substitute to asking the creator just to make it feel okay to take other people’s assets in an unrelated platform without permission. That looks like you’re looking for validation for people to agree with you.
Technically, it’d depend on the license the asset is uploaded under.
Most unity assets (I believe) can be used, however always check the license and read the EULA.
I’m reading into it myself right now, and it does say that assets under Unity’s EULA can be used pretty much anywhere, as long as they don’t make up a substantial part of the game:
You can read it yourself here:
I’m no legal guy, so don’t take my word for it completely.
I believe that most assets are under creative-commons attribution (since everyone attributes them), so if you were to use them, the minimum you should do is provide attribution.
