Cannot use Face Tracking due to "Facial Animation Unavailable" error

I’m trying to use the Face Tracking feature, but I cannot get it working due to this error appearing:

I could never get face tracking to work with just my webcam, I had to use OBS to create a virtual camera, and then switch to it in Roblox settings in order for face tracking to work properly.
It used to work in the past, but not anymore.
This is what happens everytime I try it now:

Changing video source from OBS Virtual Camera also tends to completely crash my client:

If I simply try to use my webcam directly, Roblox just doesn’t seem to know what to do with it and face tracking doesn’t work at all, despite indicating that it’s working.

I haven’t been able to find any answers online. I found this other devforum thread describing a similar issue, however, I’d like to avoid reinstalling Windows in hopes of fixing a small Roblox feature, and rather find some more sensible solution.

If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, solutions, or questions, feel free to reply.
I’d appreciate the help.

The camera I’m using (even though I don’t think it matters much):

  • AUSDOM AW651

My drivers are up-to-date.
I’m running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Is the roblox app allowed to use the camera?
Maybe some other app is using the camera alongside roblox while face tracking by the way
And also, have you tried using other faces?

Yes, it’s allowed to use my camera.
Both OBS and Roblox have full access to my camera, as indicated by an LED inside the camera lighting up to show it’s in use.
I had an issue where some program was blocking it, as a safety measure, and it quickly shut down the camera (and the indicator light) whenever Roblox tried to activate it, but I disabled it completely, so nothing is blocking it anymore.

I tried switching to the head I previously used when face tracking worked for me, but unfortunately the same issues arise.

I’m gonna try a clean reinstall of Roblox, since I haven’t tried it yet. Maybe it’ll fix something.
Edit: It didn’t fix anything.

I’m experiencing the exact same issue, I was going to make a bug report about this as well before I came across this post.

Thats weird. Maybe try a restore point if you have one or try cleaning roblox’s cache.

However, i believe this issue doesnt have anything to do with your camera or PC, while searching for a solution i found out that may people experience the same problem and this seems like a roblox problem

Could you elaborate on that a bit more?
I’m not sure I understand it entirely.

Do you mean to restore Roblox files from when it used to work? Not sure if that would work, since it’d probably prompt an update anyways, but even if it did, I unfortunately do not have any files from that time.
I also removed all Roblox files (even leftover ones that remain in AppData folders after uninstalling) and tried it on a freshly installed version, so I presume cache files would be cleared by that. I don’t think there are other directories that contain cache files, at least none that I’m aware of.

I mean the windows restore point or whatever OS you use. A bit of a radical decision but it might work
Also yeah i guess the cache got cleared during the reinstall, you can still check by pressing win+ r and running %Temp%\Roblox

Thanks for pointing this one out, I forgot about it.
I tried clearing it all, just be sure if it did anything, but unfortunately nothing new happened.

Is it a dynamic face? If not, find one, or wear one if you already own it.

It really doesn’t take much to notice that the head I’m wearing has a dynamic face…

Besides…

Given that this issue happens no matter what head I’m using, it leads to the conclusion that the issue is in the face tracking itself, not the equipped head.
