I’m trying to put a texture on a part but as you can see there’s nothing there. Idk wth is wrong with it but any feedback is appreciated.
Honestly youre probably gonna get suspended sometime soon
My post is always blank idk why
The string you’re trying to paste or write into the ColorMapContent field is probably invalid.
You can get a valid asset ID by uploading your image to roblox (if you haven’t), going to your decals in the toolbox, right clicking, then select something like copy asset ID.
Alternatively, if the asset ID is showing up in that box but not on the mesh, it could be that the decal doesn’t line up with the 3D model’s UV mapping, which decides where different parts of the image show up on the 3D surface.
Oh, that’s because that’s a SurfaceAppearance.
https://create.roblox.com/docs/reference/engine/classes/SurfaceAppearance#ColorMap
A SurfaceAppearance is like an advanced Texture, sometimes called a PBR texture: instead of just having a color at each point, it has a color, “metalness”, surface direction, roughness, etc at each point. The property that’s equivalent to a Texture’s .Texture is the .ColorMap.
You can learn more about SurfaceAppearances here:
https://create.roblox.com/docs/art/modeling/surface-appearance
You can probably just swap that out for a regular Texture that you might be more familiar with.
Edit: ColorMap not ColorMapContent
use ColorMapContent

This is seemingly looking like something broken on roblox’s end. I wonder if it has to do with the updated explorer or newer studio versions, because I’m using an older studio build with the old explorer, and everything works fine.
yea ima report the bug since that must be the issue since this is the first time ive seen anything like this
