i accidentally switched to email 2fa instead of no 2fa, and when i tried to change it again, it decided to ask for a code that was supposedly sent by mail. the problem is, said email never arrived. i can’t contact support either because it uses the same email based verification, and now i’m practically at the mercy of my backup codes to log into the site because i can’t contact support about this.
is there anything i can do to still contact support or simply change the associated email without verifying it?
Make sure you put the Correct Email Information.
If yes, then check your email box. It could under Spam. . Hidden . . or for Email Specific settings that is possibly hiding Roblox Email.
I’d also suggest just “Re-send” the Email for ___ to ensure it’s being sent to the associated Email properly.
the problem is that the email information is definitely correct, i’m simply not receiving the mails they claim to have sent. i’m mainly asking if there’s a way to contact roblox support without using their dedicated ticket system, because that requires me to verify by email (which is now impossible)
Hmm I don’t think there is anyway to not contact support since it generally sends to the associated email of the account.
Sorry I can’t help much there, perhaps someone may have a idea?
if you have your backup codes, log in with them.
but do be careful contacting roblox support about this, often if they believe the account has been compromised, they just decide “nobody can have it” and delete it. and then your emails get automatic responses saying “we cannot verify ownership of the account”
i have created a burner account to contact support with, but currently to no avail. either the support ai decides that you “don’t own the account” (which it has no proof of since it refuses to accept any) or the horrendous support agents (which might as well be ai) decide that “they can’t do anything to help you” even though they can and have shown that ability in the past in many other cases
(thanks for the replies both of you, i will keep trying)
i mean it’s either i lose the account by no longer being able to log in or i lose the account by support and i do want to try as long as i can (aka until i get a competent support agent replying to my mails)
thanks for the heads up though!
i have managed to regain account access after an extremely arduous email exchange with what felt like the same non-personalized support ‘agent’
for anyone else with the same email provider problems, here’s a small guide to save some time:
when opening support tickets on the support page, start with a burner email that can receive 2fa codes. the email you put in the email box will override the email attached to the account you’re trying to recover, so just input the username of the lost account
the ai will then ramble about “resetting your account”. depending on the flavour of your ai chatbot, it might judge you as unworthy and immediately end the conversation when you send a message, but otherwise, ask for a human support agent. the ai will usually ask you for confirmation on the correct email; then provide the email connected to the roblox account
every Sometimes after the ai chatbot closes your very brief and robotic chat, a case will actually open. soon after, a copypaste email about Everything Being Your Fault, Actually will arrive in your inbox. ask them to look at the email address you’re sending your request from, followed by said request. do this kindly or the support agent will ghost you, sending you back to square one. an important word seems to be adding the word ‘exception’ to your request, like so:
“i know you guys don’t usually do this, but could you make just one exception?”
now the chance that the support agent will actually do something is Extremely Low. in every other case they will either 1. close the ticket, 2. reply with copypaste emails about “roblox being unable to do anything” or 3. stop replying entirely depending on the day of the week and if mercury is in retrograde. if your request isn’t fulfilled after asking 3 times, open a new ticket. try a new writing style, or wait a few hours in hopes of getting a different underpaid support agent
in any given conversation, roblox support will only fulfill one (1) request at most. don’t be afraid to open tickets until you are rate limited, as roblox support seems to consist of one demented brain in a jar
and when they say anything about “roblox being unable to do x”, they are very clearly lying; you have to convince them to spend more than two seconds on your case, because whether or not your words are read by an actual human seems to be determined by a rigged coinflip. it doesn’t matter how right you are if your support agent is illiterate and as such you have to keep gambling until you hit the jackpot
all in all a humbling and almost traumatic experience. getting my account back took me at least 12 hours of correspondence and trial & error over the span of two weeks and i very much hope no one else has to go through this ever again. roblox you never fail to impress
