Capture Button on MacOS doesn't render EditableImages in SurfaceGuis

On MacOS 26.0.1 (25A362), the Roblox Capture button either hides all EditableImages or SurfaceGuis, I’m not sure which. You can see in the attached video that they just disappear when the Capture button is used, and then they are not present in the captured screenshot.

The expected behavior is that the Capture button captures what’s on my screen. Considering it doesn’t, and the fact that this behavior is not even documented anywhere, the Roblox Capture feature is considered “broken” in our game, as people use it to take a screenshot of the drawings from the last round. I have no idea if this bug is present on Windows or not.

Some UI is hidden from captures due to safety reasons.

If it is just hidden for the capture then it is probably intended

I actually had a previous issue with some audio not being recorded during video captures, found out it was for copyright reasons

Hey, thanks for reporting! This is intended behavior. For safety and privacy reasons, we hide certain UIs so that they are not captured in the screenshot.

Could this not be changed? Considering the capture button works on EditableImage’s under PlayerGui, I don’t see much point to hiding EditableImages under SurfaceGuis. Furthermore, many users opt to just use their desktop or phone’s built-in screenshot feature, which immediately circumvents anything the Capture button is doing. Like what safety and privacy goal is this even achieving when there’s already 2 immediate workarounds? It doesn’t make sense.

Overall our game needs this feature, and in it’s current behavior, the capture is pretty much useless as a feature.
