Hi! I’m seeing an issue with UGC shoe thumbnails are not rendering full PBR materials correctly. The catalog thumbnail and 2D preview appear to ignore roughness and possibly other maps, making the item look flat and inaccurate. while the 3D preview renders as expected on the item page.
This Issue began after the rollout of 2K texture support.
Reproduction Steps
Upload UGC shoes using 2K PBR texture maps.
Open the catalog item page.
Compare the 3D preview with the thumbnail/2D preview.
Expected Behavior
Thumbnail and 2D preview should match the 3D material appearance and respect roughness/PBR maps.
Actual Behavior
Thumbnail and 2D preview appear to only use the color map, resulting in a flat and materially incorrect appearance, while the 3D preview renders correctly.
When Did This Start Happening?
Within the last ~48 hours (around Feb 17–19, 2026). Assets initially rendered correctly after upload.
Additional Information
Asset type: UGC shoes
Texture resolution: 2K
Occurs consistently across multiple uploads
Issue appears isolated to the thumbnail/2D rendering pipeline
Having same issue with pants. But instead of only happening in 2D previewer, it is not working everywhere except in studio. Seems to only happen to ugc with 2k image texture where Metal, Roughness, Normal Maps won’t load. Works perfectly fine with 1k textures.
Hi! I had uploaded many of these sandals. Some of them seem to have been fixed, but several are still not rendering correctly on the catalog page.
You can see it in the screenshot below — the ones that appear overly shiny are not supposed to look like that. It seems like their PBR rendering is still broken.
