Some dynamic head bundles fail to render properly in both the 3D preview on the bundle page and in the icons shown in the Marketplace search results. This occurs even though the bundles contain valid mesh assets for the dynamic heads. The issue seems more common in older bundles, which makes me think it’s likely related to the older asset handling mechanisms or mesh archiving processes used back then.
The affected bundles appear exactly like this, which is highly misleading — especially for users specifically searching for “Headless” items:
The dynamic head should render correctly in 3D previews on the bundle page and in search result thumbnails in the Marketplace, as long as the mesh asset is valid and present.
Fixing this will help prevent confusion caused by certain bundles that are labeled “Headless” — due to this bug, nothing appears in the catalog thumbnail at first glance, which can be misleading.
The issue seems to correlate with lower bundle ID numbers, implying these are older uploads from when bundle and asset IDs were still sequential. This problem probably arises from older asset management methods or complications like mesh archiving and broken references introduced in earlier processing steps.
Adding onto this, invisible heads are still a problem. No idea how this was replicated, but nonetheless no wonder there are invisible thumbnails floating around.
That’s a different issue because in the 3D preview, the bundle is visible and its icon is also visible in the catalog. However, the ones in my bug report are bundles that do not appear in the preview but whose meshes are still fully available.
A bundle being available despite its mesh being deleted is definitely a different problem, and could you please submit a separate bug report for that? Otherwise, the issues conflict. If you don’t mind, I can send it myself if you’re not planning to, since the issue you’re mentioning affects me as well.
~I am in close contact with the creator of these bundles and as far as I know this happened due to a mistake by the copyright agents, we informed the copyright agents about this mistake but this morning these bundles were deleted (even if the mesh has already returned) **
So if a moderator sees this then please restore these bundles ( Glass Half Head and Void Black Half Head ) as they no longer have content that violates the rules.
According to the rule: “Watertight – All geometry must be watertight without exposed holes or backfaces. Meshes used as outer cages do not need to be watertight.”
Their bundles clearly violate this, as they contain visible backfaces instead of proper outward-facing normals.
In fact, these bundles use flipped normals, which results in a “reversed” visual effect — the inside appears on the outside and vice versa. This is especially noticeable when you look at the item thumbnails:
And this directly violates the policy that prohibits exposing backfaces in character geometry. This rule is in place to ensure visual and technical consistency across all bundles.
These bundles should not be restored. Additionally, the support team should be informed of this policy to prevent further abuse or accidental approval of similar violations.
For a more detailed explanation, you can refer to my reply here:
these bundles were removed specifically for a reason that was resolved by returning the mesh.
Recently, roblox has been accepting all appeals for reversed bundles, and you yourself made about 100 of them.
Therefore, at least because these bundles were removed for another reason, they should be restored at least until they make updates.
