Change subject of password reset request emails

As a Roblox Developer, it is currently hard to not freak out when someone attempts to reset your password. This is because the subject of the email you receive is “Roblox Account Password Reset”. It would be very cool if the password reset request emails did not look as though my password had been reset.

I woke up this morning to an email with that subject. It was anxiety inducing.

This was not in fact my Roblox password being reset. It was someone requesting to reset my password, which is a much different email.

Please change this to make it more clear that it is not “your password was reset”. I don’t need that kind of stress in my life as a Roblox developer.

Depends! As long as you’re using a different password, you’ll mostly be okay. However I should warn you that there is some slight risk of somebody trying to make a 2nd email look as closely as possible to your original email as a way to trick support into thinking that’s the correct email when it isn’t. An example would be something like this:

Real email: thisismyemail@example.com
Fake email: tnisismyemaiI@example.com

Other than that, you’re fine.

This literally just happened to me as well, seems like someone just reset every single Roblox developer related email address in some sort of breach. Fortunately it’s not as scary as it looks. Stay safe guys!

It seems to be that the bad actors are probably scraping some kind of breach so that’s why we’re all getting this email.
