Changing sound ids doesn't let you play it after you change

Does this happen with any asset you try? Can you send us a place file that repros the issue and steps to reproduce it?

I just know this happens with sound instances specifically, you don’t need a repro place just a sound object no matter where it’s located but you can place it in replicatedstorage (that’s where I put my sounds so if it’s parent related it’d be there), just change its id and you should have the same behaviour of it not loading and only reparenting helps

Oh I know what could be the issue. When I encounter this it’s when I upload a new sound so I copy the new sound Id and maybe it has to do with the fact I just created the sound

@royee354 we tried with a new asset and it still worked - is it possible that you were using a group asset within a personal experience or vice versa?

I upload sounds to my account not group but the game I’m doing this in is indeed a group game, that might actually be the reason, smart thinking
