Character 'Animate' script inside a ViewportFrame only works in Studio and throws a blank red error in the ROBLOX Player

I’ve recently updated my game to show the full 3D character models of the players in the race queue.
But when testing on ROBLOX I noticed that my character’s idle animation doesn’t play, and checking inside the console only brings up an error message, but with no actual error, just the location of the script.

System information:
MacBook Air M1,
8 GB RAM,
256 GB SSD,
Sequoia 15.6

Test file to reproduce (publish to ROBLOX to see the bug):
Place1.rbxl (61.6 KB)

See below:

Here’s the affected game:

Expected behavior

For reference, my character’s idle animation is the ‘Superhero Idle’.

In Studio, this is what it looks like (this is the expected behaviour):

In the ROBLOX Player, this is what it looks like (notice how there’s no animation):

Okay so update! After some tinkering, I’ve discovered that if I delete the ‘Animate’ script created by Players:CreateHumanoidModelFromUserId() and replace it with a custom one, it works fine.

This leads me to believe that it’s an issue with the default Animate script (at least the one created by that method ^)

Thank you — I’d just ran into this exact same issue, with all of the exact same details that you’d described, and this solution of replacing the Animate script seems to work for me.
