Character dips into floor when using ScaleTo() on client

  1. What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
I want the character to not sink into the floor after calling ScaleTo() on the client

  2. What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible!
The character dips into the ground when scaleTo() is used on the client

  3. What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Creator Hub?
I’ve tried using my own scaleTo() function, i’ve tried making the hipheight higher, i’ve tried setting the correct position right after scaling.

When I use scaleTo() on the client, while the character is moving, it causes like a jitter/lag. So the solution, according to other developers on here, was to use scaleTo() on the client, but now I have an issue where the other players characters are sinking into the ground. This isn’t an issue with the character being controlled by the local player, it’s only an issue with the other characters.

All I want is to be able to grow and shrink my character cleanly. If anyone has any advice or tips, I’d appreciate it

You have to set the humanoid’s hipheight appropriately too.

I don’t think so. I believe it scales with the character.

The HipHeight gets updated by scaleTo(). There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it, which is odd. It seems like HipHeight would be the issue, but I don’t think it is.

Still could be. The scale is applied from the center of the model. That means the legs will clip through the floor. You should account for that by transforming it

local modelSizeYaxis = -- get the size's Y
local offset = ((modelSizeYaxis*scaleFactor)-modelSizeYaxis)/2

It’s the movement replication system. It’s usually pretty laggy on Roblox. Not much that can be done other than scripting a new one unfortunately.
