Sometimes, when I send a chat message, it appears as a chat bubble, but doesn’t appear in the chat UI. I believe it is an issue with the new TextChatService.
Expected Results
All sent chat messages should appear in the chat box UI.

This might happen from a multitude of reasons, i’m no expert on how the roblox chat service is handled but, it is possible that filtered messages, or tagged messages, Roblox will simply not show the message at all in the chat UI if it lags or has an issue while filtering it, but will still show in the bubble chat since they are both rendered differently.
But on a different note that’s more probable
- Messages will just not be sent in the chat if there is a latency issue and the chat is only able to be sent via bubble chat or client
- The server is laggy causing the same issue or a syncing problem with chatlogs and bubble chat
- Or lastly a memory build up from a long play sessions from accumulate unused UI instances such as the chatlog
I’ve had this problem a lot and some of the time they can see the message in the log and i cant, which is just a client glitch, but i’m pretty sure the problem stems from a memory or internet issue.
also js to remark again im no expert on this topic so for if this is true or not, im not sure. Im just basing my knowledge from what classes i’ve had that had gone over similar situations and my knowledge on the game engine itself. but this seems to be a roblox issue itself. 
For me, if you open/close chat your message shows up as normal. I’m unsure if other users can see it though.
I do want to add that this has been consistently happening to me even before this bug report was made (At least 1-2 weeks ago).

To help with reproducing and debugging, what experiences do you see this behavior in? And are there any patterns of behavior that cause this to happen more frequently?

These are the experiences I encountered the issue in:
I don’t join games that often, so it may be the case that I would’ve encountered it in other games as well.
Still happening. Was playing ‘Prospecting’ and occasionally my message didn’t appear for me in the chat, yet others could see it.
Also seen it happen where a friend said something in chat which didn’t show up for me, yet I saw their speech bubble

Noticed that this was marked as fixed. Not sure if it was or not, but I reported a new bug with sending chat messages which may or may not be related to this (in both cases, it may seem like your message didn’t send):

I’ve had this bug happen to me several times in many different experiences and there doesn’t yet appears to be clear and consistent reproduction steps for the issue. Not sure if it’s still an issue now though.

I am appaled at how Roblox staff members are marking bugs that ARE NOT FIXED as fixed without even confirming with the users who reported it to ensure the fix actually worked, let alone mentioning that a fix was attempted.
As soon as I experience this bug again I’ll reply here to confirm its NOT FIXED.
