This is like such a cool shop design and stuff but the AI made assets just make it look low quality and awful.

I’d say it’s just a placeholder. Expedition 33 allegedly used Ai during development process only for placeholder assets which are now deleted from the files.

Its just that ai-generated images dont look good, i understand if its a placeholder and you just want something to be there, but using it for a final product is just bad.

I’m not sure about the context of your project but it’s too yellow and stained, in terms of colors. the sepia is too strong
dialogue/typewrite is too slow if you care about dopamine optimization
otherwise the rest of the system is pretty polish and game-ready (imo there’s room for even more effects)
nobody is here for your virtue signalling. it would help if you could actually explain why the assets look low quality (and I must remind you that models have substantially improved)

Opening the shop is a little slow and the entire visual appearance of the shop doesn’t really line up with a few other things(?) I can’t even tell what style this game is supposed to be. You have a low-poly shark model but then a textured stand and a textured ground- just decide on one style man 
The sound design within the UI isn’t too good either, you have a somewhat annoying hover sound, an overly-dramatic (and loud) woosh sound, and then a low-quality coin sound, and all that with an unresponsive UI that takes a second to react to what you’re doing and even then has little visual feedback for actually clicking anything.
I really do hope all the AI is placeholder, but just looking at the amount of it being used, I don’t think it is. Just look for free asset packs, dude. AI makes your stuff look cheap and low-quality. If you can’t be bothered making assets or even finding free ones, can you be trusted to make anything good?
You got some things that’d make a good UI, but a lot of everything else just brings it down a lot.
I like how you’ve done the effect for having something selected (although some kind of quick-buy would be nice), but then you have the sound design, lack of feedback, lack on consistency, slugish-ness and AI use that brings it down.
Fun fact, people don’t actually like AI and people don’t even use it since it has no actual use cases! I know, crazy right? Can you believe they also managed to find water in the ocean?

The AI makes it look weird and off-putting in my opinion. Now listen, AI has its use cases, in this case I advice you to not use AI, as illustrations made by AI look soulless and quite bad as they have some inconsistencies and lack of human detail. Maybe only use them as a placeholders. I think you should also make the dialogue more fast-paced and lower the purchase SFX volume. Also, as @Chark_Proto said, the style used in the UI and the one used in the 3D game don’t match, so you gotta fix that. I think it’s a solid shop UI

they always are, doesnt mean you do the thing “everyone” does. AI is good and bad. AI images. As of right now. Trash.

Are you being sarcastic or actually serious? Look at the UI again and tell me it doesn’t look awful due to the “attempted” high quality assets the AI “tried” to generate. It just ruins everything.
AI sucks. It’s a tool, not your slave that you can use to do whatever you want. And I’d much rather get left behind in the dust than change my self with these horrendous times of stupidity, laziness, and ignorance.
I hope it IS a placeholder. But by the looks of it, I HIGHLY doubt that.

I think it’s a placeholder because why would every ability share the same picture and why would they be numbered Ability 1 to Ability 200?

The only thing id change is the text and little running guy images. make it more grungy or cracked. Ai isnt bad lol what if hes a solo dev doing EVEYTHING by himself?
There are people in the world who do everything (a jack of all trade) to make a game. It’s not hard to learn a skill, and it’s certainly not super hard to make basic illustrations or at least taking them from online. It’s better than using stupid AI to do your work.
