Checking what surface of a part is on the top

how would i find which surface of the part is on top? i mean facing the sky
i know i can spawn a ray above the part and rotate it towards the part and then check the surface, but is it possible to do it with a shorter method

UpVector, LookVector and RightVector properties of the part’s CFrame can help you with that, see which one looks at the top 0, 1, 0 and you can know which direction is facing upwards.
