Choppy movement controls on Pico 4

I’m having an issue where if a game uses default/vanilla R15 VR, my movement will be choppy and clunky. This doesn’t happen in games like VR Hands and Opposer VR, only in those that use vanilla VR or have no VR support at all.

This clip doesn’t really reflect the issue that well, but sometimes it can be just awful.

Also, Roblox VR is literally unplayable with PICO Connect due to major controls issues.

System Information: Windows 11 24H2 26100.6584, AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, 16 GB DDR5 RAM.
I’ve used ALVR Streamer and Pico 4 VR headset while recording the clip.

Expected behavior

I expect smooth VR movement/locomotion. That’s it.

pico vr may not be supported by roblox, but idk much abt that headset. ik oculus can download apps, and they have roblox as an app you can download so maybe you can do that as well

even if pico is still a niche, their latest headsets are capable for full pcvr experience

How are you tethering the Pico? Through a cable or WiFi, from my experience, the Pico WiFi link is really unstable. If you’re tethering through cable, I’d recommend something like the Meta quest link cable, its a bit pricey, but you can usually find it in second hand shops for a lot less.

i do pcvr only through wifi and its smooth as butter. the issue here is not lag or stuttering, its just roblox being roblox.

just done a little bit of research, stumbled upon this thread - The game is unplayable in SteamVR on non-Oculus/Meta controllers due to insufficient control binding options

good job on not fixing the issue, roblox.

Hi @kemofluff,

I suspect the issue is indeed related to the control bindings issue. We’re working on a fix that should properly expose controller bindings for all headsets.

For the time being, could you try emulating as one of the Oculus Touch controllers in ALVR streamer? The option should be under Settings > Headset > Controllers > Emulation mode. It might tide you over until we can get the fix merged into the Roblox client. Unfortunately we don’t have a Pico headset on hand, so we’re unable to check this ourselves.

have a fix been pushed yet? im still experiencing keybindings issue.

Hi @kemofluff,

Would you be able to try again now? We recently deployed a fix for non-Meta VR devices. While it doesn’t explicitly support Pico VR devices, the fix should let you properly rebind your controls on SteamVR.
