Clicking on a Roblox web chat message removes chat input (if chat history is not enabled)

^ Example of missing chat input.

While in game, if you click a message notification from the Roblox website chat, and the chat history is turned off (bubble chat still enabled), the chat input bar is no longer there, even if the chat is toggled, even while using / as a keyboard input. Unsure if this happens in other games, have not tested. The chat system is the main Roblox chat, with chat history off as stated. Rejoining or a new session does not work.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Disable chat history. (unsure if bubble chat affects)
  2. Click on a notification sent via the Roblox website chat via a friend.
  3. Problem occurs. Chat input no longer works, including the / key bind.

Expected result: Chat should still be functioning normally, inputs from the chat bar and key bind should work.

Hello and thank you for the report! Could I ask which game you were trying this in? And just double checking, when you say disable chat history do you mean closing the chat window? I tried reproducing this in a game but am unable to reproduce, which leads me to think that maybe it’s limited to certain games.

Thank you for the reply. Disabling chat history means disabling the ChatWindowConfiguration, it worked on an empty baseplate with just that disabled so I’m inclined it’s either my device or a global issue.

I replicated the issue on a published empty baseplate with ChatWindowConfiguration under the chat service.
