Client Memory usage spikes for my game

So I am currently making a game where you dig down as deep as you want in a 60x60 stud area and the deeper you get the more your client memory usage spikes. At around a depth of 200, it spikes to about 3000mb how should I go about fixing this, I have already tried to make a render distance function but seemed to not have much of an effect on the performance.
