(CLOSED) Gaia Interactive is Hiring a Programmer

Gaia Interactive is Looking for a Full-time Programmer

About Us

I hope this finds whoever is reading it well, my name is Jason and I am the owner of Gaia Interactive a new game studio here on the platform. Recently my fellow developers and I have been constructing a Fantasy MMO game on ROBLOX that we are putting a lot of heart into. Please Note: We are not looking to “hire” or be a “client” we are looking for someone to join our team.

Payment

We have a full team of very talented and wonderful but I do want to be very upfront in saying this is a passion project on this site. My team and I are very big into games being about games not money, and while hard work does merit payment and reward that is not the primary reason we want people working on our game.

As the programming job is a laborious part of the game we are offering options as far as payment, if you decide to join our team you can choose from the following:

  • 30% of game revenue
  • Direct payment upon completion of task via PayPal or R$. (Payments vary, please contact for details)
  • Less than 30% game revenue with smaller payouts upon completion of tasks.

About The Job

As I stated above this project has been in the works for a decent bit and we are almost ready to get some very early testing going however, our programmer quit on us very abruptly without notice and it has left us looking for someone to rise to the occasion. Below you can see an examples of how the game looks style wise. We are looking for someone as we stated above are in this for passion purposes and are looking to make a fun game. We are looking for someone who is professional but also able to be creative and fun and have new ideas.

We will need someone who will be capable of programming things including but not limited to.

  • Pokemon Like Combat
  • In-Game Economy
  • Quests
  • Inventories
  • Data-Storing
  • Camera Work
  • And much more.

These are just a few of the plethora of things we will need but more information can be given upon request. Two of our developers are able to work as secondary programmers as the game is planned to be quite large.

Aboue The Game

Our main focus for the game is a magic themed MMO around collecting spells, being social, making friends, and hosting an in-game economy. To draw parallel’s things like combat will work similarly to games like Pokemon. We are looking to have players have a plethora of ideas and routes to take with the game as we want lots of it to be community driven. Previews of the game can be seen below. Please note this is the tutorial area for the player. All screenshots and content have a possibility to change.

Availability

We will be looking for someone who can preferably work on this project everyday as that is what the rest of the team does. We encourage breaks we just do ask for people to post and keep updated with us. This must be your primary project.

We are looking for someone who can be apart of the Gaia Team exclusively to ensure maximum quality to our games as we are looking for them to polished and professionally made.

Please don’t use percentages to pay. If the game makes no money, the developer(s) get no money for all the work they put in.

I understand where you are coming from completely, but, as we’ve stated this game is being made to be a game, not a source of revenue. We’re making the game for fun, because we enjoy. I am 100% for people being properly paid out for the hard work they do, but at the end of the day that’s how we as a team have decided to run what we are doing. We are more than understanding that not all developers will wish to apply because of this reason. Although I do appreciate the feedback, and we are considering possible alternatives to what is stated. :slightly_smiling_face:
