What you stated is not necessarily correct. Everybody learns things at their own pace, not all new animators or programmers just learn everything in one day, it requires practice and skill to become a successful and experienced animator or scripter. Things don’t just come easily. Some may have taken more or less time than others.
In addition to your response about the payment, it depends on the skills the developer and the amount they want in return for their work. Some developers expect more than others.
