A plugin for building a combat system. You can create combat weapons and abilities, which are easily customisable.

  1. Open up CombatSystemBuilder, on the first page there will be a button to insert the Combat Handler. This will be the server-sided handler for the combat system. It must be inserted for weapons or abilities to work.

Create a weapon

  1. On the second page, there will be a button to open the weapon builder panel.

  2. Use the weapon builder panel to customize your weapon to your liking.

  3. When your finished customizing your weapon, press the ‘insert’ button in the weapon builder panel. Your weapon will be inserted into the explorer.

  4. Thats it! check out the FAQ’s on information on how to further customize your weapon. (custom animations, sounds, etc.)

Create an ability

It’s good practice to create your ability module first, so we will do that before creating our ability.

  1. Create a new module, I have mine located in ReplicatedStorage. This module will contain the code that runs when players use the ability.

  2. The module must contain a function named onUse. My onUse function shoots out a fireball from infront of the player.

  3. Now, we can create our ability. re-open CombatSystemBuilder, and on the third page there will be a button to open the ability builder panel.

  4. Use the ability builder panel to customize your weapon to your liking. Make sure the ‘On Use Module’ is set to your ability module

  5. Thats it! This is how my FireBall ability turned out. When I press the ‘1’ key, a fire ball spawns in front of my character.

  6. Note: If you created your ability before creating your ability module and On Use Module was set to nothing, you will have to set the ‘onUse’ object value inside your ability tool to your module, otherwise the ability module won’t run.

"How Do I Change things like hitbox lifetime, hitbox offset, attacker/target stunned speeds etc?"

You are able to change things like hitbox lifetime, hitbox offset etc in the CombatHandlerServer script.

  1. Find the CombatHandlerServer script, it should be in ServerScriptService, if not, use the CombatSystemBuilder to insert it.

  2. Open up the script. There will be various variables (Ba da bum! :drum:) Feel free to change them according to your needs.

Note that these variables are for ALL of the combat system’s weapons, currently you cannot change things like hitbox lifetime and hitbox offset individually for each weapon.
