Completing the Dynamic Head Migration

JUST LET US HAVE TWO VERSIONS.
Seriously I think Dynamic heads aren’t so bad but this wave of just taking down old faces and reuploading it into stuff WE as a community don’t really want is a horrible idea. If you REALLY want people to buy dynamic heads then make it so when you buy Dynamic heads you also get the classic face with it. It allows you to have a silly animated face while also if you want too you can use the classic face.
And I’m not saying ALL dynamic heads, I’m only talking about Roblox heads that HAVE CLASSIC FACE VERSIONS. Please consider this feedback, i beg.

Hello,
I understand that this is a necessary change for faces in order to ensure compatibility with upcoming avatar launches such as makeup, so I’d like to offer a couple of my concerns in the hopes that this transition will go as smoothly as possible for users and creators:

  • One of my biggest concerns as a UGC creator is that with the previous conversions of the Classic Head shapes into Dynamic Heads, the head sits very noticeably higher relative to the torso than the original default classic head does. This will cause many backwards compatibility issues with existing accessories that UGC creators such as myself have spent years creating with the exact proportions and specifications of the popular default blocky body and default head in mind. Roblox should not be making changes to the way the classic head shapes sit on the body. Users are going to expect that their heads function exactly as they do now, including in the way it is positioned relative to their avatar’s torso. This specific change will break compatibility with certain accessories designed around the long standing avatar proportions.

  • Accessory attachment points on previous conversions of Classic Head shapes are also not consistent with the default classic head, meaning that accessories that both creators and users will expect to fit these heads exactly in the way that they currently fit the default classic head will not. Users should not have to adjust every single existing accessory that they own in order to make them fit in the way that they expect them to. I am worried as a UGC creator that many of my existing UGC avatar items will no longer fit correctly as they did when I created them with the consistent attachment points of the legacy heads in mind, and that when users use the “Try On” feature, they will see an incorrect fitting and instead buy an item that fits correctly by default without having to mess around with adjusting it themselves. These updated heads should retain the exact same Hat, Hair, Face Front, and Face Center attachment points to ensure out-of-the-box compatibility with user’s current avatars and existing UGC accessories.

Thank you for putting a lot of concerns to rest with your work towards making sure the identities of these faces stays intact, but as some have/will point out there’s still some minor tweaks that need to be done. In my opinion these are cool changes coming

follow this advice because very likely roblox will do 5 billion double downs on why they won’t reconsider this change, given how they respond to us telling roblox to reconsider age verification BS that doesn’t even work to begin with.
And the new requirements to the UGC faces is a salt to the injury. Not to mention that unique faces are likely in trouble
Can we get community resource that reverts faces back to classic somehow?

I wonder how true this will hold when they see head and face sales plummet into the ground because NOBODY asked for this or wanted this. People like you are why Roblox constantly believes they can get away with these painfully out of touch updates and it needs to stop.

So there will be flat out no way to disable facial animations, for both the player and developer? That seems very antithetical to Roblox’s ‘express yourself however you want’ goal.

Also, wait, what happened to the backwards compatibility promise here? Won’t games that expect decal faces just break when this gets forced on?
