On the devforum, i have had to upload videos a lot of times and i’ve noticed everytime i wanted to it said the video was above the limit of 10MB.
Because of this i’ve had to constantly compress the video myself which takes extremely long to do, slowing down my workflow.
Some people might not even know how to compress videos which would prevent them from posting anything at all and could result in bugs not being reported properly.
If the devforum were to automatically compress any videos uploaded, it would save a lot of time and i wouldnt have to compress tons of videos when trying to report a bug.
I personally upload whatever videos to YouTube, though it does take time to upload and go through all the upload settings.
It’d be nice to have compression automatically. A QOL thing. I guess to what extent is the question. But I assume this would be a request for Discourse, not the DevForum. Hopefully Hooksmith can clarify.
If this gets added, please include a toggle to turn it off. I use FFMPEG with fine tuned parameters that give me good results and it would be a shame for it to get compressed twice.
Bump, all my short videos usually weight 20mb. Roblox can already compress everything good enough, devforum won’t cause a traffic that would be problematic
