Overview
Hello fellow developers! As I’m sure many of you do, I take feedback from my player base to improve my games quite often. However, what they say oftentimes misses the additional context and understanding of platform and game design constraints that only another developer would know.
My solution? I want to work with other developers to give each other feedback to improve each other’s games! That way, both of us can get high-quality feedback grounded in an understanding of the Roblox platform. Are you willing to give me a consultation on one of my games if I give you one on yours?
How It Works
- If you meet the requirements listed below, create either a message here or send me a private devforum message with your game link, indicating you’re interested.
- If I have availability, I’ll let you know which of my games I’d like you to review.
- We both make a 15-30 minute video playing the other person’s game and giving feedback. These are uploaded as unlisted videos to YouTube, so it’s easy for both parties to view them.
- We exchange the videos and any additional feedback, and hopefully both of us walk away with new ideas on how to improve our games! Additional follow-up sessions in a few months could also help us see how we are both improving and provide more feedback.
Requirements
To ensure high-quality feedback, this is restricted to developers who are actively working on a released project. You gain so much additional understanding of the platform and game design once you have something released, and that helps a lot for the quality of feedback.
If you’re a newer developer, keep working on your projects! Once you have something released with active players, we could potentially do a consult for each other. However, you’re not quite at the level yet where I’d feel I’m getting a fair trade exchanging my feedback for yours.
The requirements for this are the following:
- You must have a publicly released game that has been out for at least 14 days.
- You must have an average CCU of 50+ for the past 14 days.
- You must have a machine powerful enough to record your gameplay. It doesn’t need to be super high quality or high frame rate, but it should be good enough to understand what is going on in your gameplay.
- You must have a microphone to give commentary during the video, OR be willing to write a detailed report containing your feedback alongside the video.
About Me
- I run the studio behind the games Empire Clash, Navy Simulator, Mafia Clash, Trash Game (discontinued), and Circuit Breakers (discontinued).
- We have over 100 million visits combined on our games.
- I make enough from our games to do Roblox development as my full-time job, and my two co-founders do as well.
- I really enjoy history and am most interested in strategy, RPG, and action games. However, I am also willing to expand my horizons and try other game types!
Let’s Collaborate!
If you meet the requirements and are interested, please comment below or send me a message! I would love to start doing these soon. Roblox is one of the unique platforms where competition really doesn’t exist, as players typically play many different games. When someone else’s game improves, everyone benefits as the platform grows and improves. I’m looking forward to working with those who are interested!
