Hey there! I’m one of the developers of CoreX: Surfaced. I decided to write a starter guide for players that are new to CoreX: Surfaced.
CoreX: Surfaced is Roblox mining game where players mine through layers, uncover various ores, create stronger equipment, explore caves and discover rarer ores.
CoreX: Surfaced is in Beta 1 at the moment, which means that certain features may change in the future in case of updates and additions.
Getting Started
As a newcomer, you will begin with basic Pickaxe. It is your starter equipment that is used to harvest first blocks and ores.
It is better to focus on mining common materials, as those materials will come in handy while crafting first upgrades and starting progressing in the game.
First ores that you can discover:
- Copper
- Coal
- Quartz
- Granite
- Bright Cyanstone
- Zircon
Every ore is valuable even if it is common. Early ores are required for crafting, and collecting them will be helpful later.
Depth layers
Every time you mine deeper, the mine becomes another layer. Every layer has its own main block, and some ores become available only in certain depth.
Layers that exist in CoreX: Surfaced:
- Stone: 0 to 999 depth
- Deepslate: 1,000 to 1,999 depth
- Pebblestone: 2,000 to 2,999 depth
- Shiftedstone: 3,000 to 3,999 depth
- Cracked Lava: 4,000 to 4,999 depth
- Obsidian: 5,000 to 5,999 depth
- Marble: 6,000 to 6,999 depth
- Purple Rubystone: 7,000 depth and deeper
Current deepest point in the mine is 10,000,000 depth.
Ores
Ores are one of the main features of CoreX: Surfaced. They are required for earning money, crafting, progressing and making unique discoveries.
There are many ores that are easily accessible, but there are also very rare ores. More ores become discoverable as you progress further.

Alerts
There are some ores that produce alerts upon discovery.
Ores that show up in the form of server alert for all players in the same server:
- Infernite
- Obscurite
- Promethium
- Astatine
- Maxwell
- Tenebrite
- Symmetrium
- Voidstone
- Yunium
- Ambrosia
There are also some global alerts for ores. Those ores are extremely rare, and they are announced on the whole game:
- White Black Hole
- Rainbow Yunium
- Reality
- Illusion

Caves
While mining you can discover caves. Caves are good because they uncover more blocks at once and allow players to discover more ores.
There is also some special ore that is tied with caves, called Twilight. Twilight ore is harvested in Twilight Caves, and connected with special Twilight Pickaxe.
Caves are worth exploring any time they appear.
Pickaxes
Pickaxes are one of the main sources of progressing in CoreX: Surfaced. Better pickaxes give more luck, mining pattern improvement or special abilities.
There are such pickaxes:
- Pickaxe: Starter tool
- Banana Pickaxe: Early upgrade of pickaxe
- Lucky Pickaxe: Pickaxe that gives luck
- Crylight Pickaxe: Mines additional blocks directly in front of you
- Ruby Hammer: Mines 2x2 block range
- Magma Pickaxe: Pickaxe with mining speed effects and strong hit bonus
- Twilight Pickaxe: Special cave-oriented pickaxe with unique void hole ability
- Lightning Pickaxe: Pickaxe with timed lightning ability
- Emerald Hammer: Mines 4x4 range of blocks
- Dawn Pickaxe: Powerful pickaxe with surge ability
Crafting better pickaxes is necessary because it makes mining easier, helps you to mine faster and increases your chance to discover rarer ores.
Crafting
Crafting requires ores and blocks mined during gameplay. Recipes for crafting may require certain basic materials or rare ores.
One of the tips that I suggest is not to sell all your materials right away, as some materials that look useless at the beginning of the game may be required for some recipe.
New Player Tips
Here are some tips for newcomers to CoreX: Surfaced:
- Mine as often as possible and gather as many materials as you can.
- Save common ores, as they may be required for crafting.
- Upgrade your pickaxe when you have enough materials.
- Pay attention to your depth, as some ores can be found only in certain range.
- Explore caves when they appear.
- Keep rare ores if you plan to craft stronger tools.
- Do not worry about not discovering rare ores immediately.
