I have several game ideas that could make use of this, so I’d love to know the best way to go about it.
Are there plugins? Are we scripting this, if so what should I toy with? Seems like manually placing each section would result in some sections not lining up fully. I’m interested in clean lines, ramps, turns and loops.
I would recommend using blender for anything with bends or curves if it’s more complicated than a simple turn or elevation change. But the best way without using blender would be to use various plugins like Archimedes. Their are a ton of different methods or workflows so best chance is to look for tutorials on youtube. I stress the use of blender as you can easily generate the loops and hills with curves and generally speaking adds a skill to your toolbox if you havent used Blender.
Just like @bonecoat said, Archimedes is a great plugin for creating slides like the one your trying to create. Additionally, in order for your slides to not have gaps on them (which you’ll most likely experience if you’re making steep drops with them), I’d also recommend you get Stravant’s GapFill & Extrude and ResizeAlign which you can find here:
I hope these plugins alongside Archimedes will make good looking slides.
