Description:
When browsing the “All Items” section of the Roblox Marketplace, users can apply filters such as Category and Creator. The main categories available include Characters, Clothing, Accessories, Heads, and Animations.
If a user selects a specific creator using the creator filter and applies it, the filter works correctly as expected when only one of the main categories is selected.
However, when the user selects any subcategory (e.g., Face Accessories under Accessories, or Jackets under Clothing), the previously applied creator filter is reset to “All Creators”. The input field for choosing a creator disappears entirely, even though the creator’s name still appears in the interface. This requires the user to manually reselect the creator and click Apply again every time a subcategory is chosen.
This issue only occurs when selecting subcategories. Selecting only the main categories does not cause the filter to reset.
Expected Behavior:
-
The creator filter should stay applied when selecting a subcategory.
-
A subcategory refers to a more specific filter option that appears after selecting a main category. For example:
- Under Accessories, subcategories include Head, Face, Shoulder, Back, etc.
- Under Clothing, subcategories include Shirts, Pants, Jackets, etc.
-
These subcategories should not reset or remove the currently active creator filter.
-
Filters should persist until the user explicitly changes or removes them.
Actual Behavior:
-
Selecting any subcategory results in:
- The creator filter being automatically reset to “All Creators”
- The creator input field disappearing from the UI
- The user having to reselect the creator and reapply the filter manually
-
The creator’s name still appears in the filtering section, but is no longer functionally applied.
