The create.roblox.com website is currently entirely inaccessible. Attempting to visit the site results in a 500 ERROR – The request could not be satisfied message from CloudFront. This is completely breaking functionality for developers attempting to access any publishing, analytics, or dashboard tools through the site. The error indicates CloudFront Functions is unable to connect to the origin server, suggesting a severe backend or configuration failure. Please investigate and resolve this urgently.
All of the recent downtime seems to have been caused by the same root issue: AWS outages. If this is the case, I urgently implore Roblox to re-evaluate their reliance on these service providers and take up the importance of system uptime with them.
Hey folks, yes still seeing this issue as indicated by Nightriff’s response right above.
We have engineers actively investigating and we’ll let you know as soon as we have any updates. We’re also getting the status page updated in a minute.
There’s a big nationwide exam tomorrow that I’ll be taking, and I was just checking the page one last time before going to bed — and this is what I see… from a multi-billion dollar company’s website.
This is resolved for now and we are in contact with AWS to ensure this will not reoccur. We’re actively monitoring for further impact. Thanks for your patience.
I understand it is very compelling to bucket all reliability issues together because they appear similar from the outside looking in, and it’s frustrating to deal with outages, but the root cause here was very different from other root causes for other incidents. These are very complex systems with many touch points.
Every time an issue happens, we have a very thorough procedure internally to make sure the issue does not reoccur with various action items that get implemented. Appreciate your understanding here and again apologies for the inconvenience.
