[CRITICAL] Accounts remain deleted even after appeals are accepted

Hi, I want to report a serious issue with Roblox moderation appeals. This is not an appeal request through the Developer Forum — the appeals described below have already been accepted by Roblox, but the affected accounts remain deleted.

My account was deleted following a moderation action related to content uploaded while I was working on one of my experiences. I appealed the moderation action on July 24, and Roblox accepted my appeal.

Despite this, my account remained deleted.

I contacted Roblox Support multiple times because the accepted appeal was not applied to my account.

On August 3, Customer Support told me: “I have forwarded your appeal to a specialist for further review.” It is now August 7 and I still have not received a resolution, even though the original appeal was accepted on July 24.

This is also happening to another developer I know. His account was deleted in connection with an avatar/outfit experience. He appealed through Violations & Appeals on August 6, and Roblox accepted the appeal only a few hours later.

Roblox explicitly stated: “We reviewed your appeal and we found that your activity didn’t break the rules explained in our Community Standards — so there are no consequences to your account.”

However, his account is still deleted.

In both cases the result is essentially:

Account deleted → Appeal accepted → Account remains deleted

Expected behavior:
After an appeal against an account deletion is accepted, the account should be restored.

Actual behavior:
The appeal is accepted, but the account remains deleted. In my case this has continued since July 24, including after the case was forwarded to a specialist.

Since this has affected at least two separate developer accounts, this appears to be a bug where successful appeal decisions are not being correctly applied to deleted accounts.

Account usernames, support ticket numbers, asset/experience IDs, and other identifying information are provided privately for Roblox Staff.

I wouldn’t say it’s a bug in most cases, but that just means the accounts have stacked bans — which is actually a thing.

I’m not sure in your case, but with the developer you know they have at least 2-3 bans that got stacked.

  1. Privacy: Giving PII —> Appealed
  2. Avatar/outfit experience —> Not reviewed/appealed yet
  3. Their account’s actual moderation: Harmful Content/Behavior (due to their avatar/outfit game) —> Not reviewed/appealed yet

They have gotten 1/3 of their bans appealed, but that doesn’t mean they get unbanned yet because they still have 2 other bans they have to get appealed first to be fully unbanned and back on Roblox.

I know this may be confusing, but I’m 100% concern thats the case here, you both having stacked bans. I wish Roblox would just show all active bans for the account instead of just the latest one to you.

Thanks for the explanation, but stacked bans don’t appear to be the case here.

My friend does not have any other moderation violations showing on his account. The appeal shown in my post is the moderation action connected to his account deletion, and Roblox accepted it and explicitly stated that his activity did not break the Community Standards and that there are “no consequences to your account.” Despite that, the account is still deleted.

The same applies to my case. I do not have several separate active bans that I can see or appeal. The moderation action related to my deletion was appealed and accepted, but my account remained deleted afterward.

So unless Roblox has additional hidden moderation actions that are completely invisible to us, there aren’t 2–3 other bans waiting to be appealed.

And if there actually are hidden stacked bans that users cannot see anywhere in Violations & Appeals, that would itself be a serious issue because there would be no way for the affected user to know what they need to appeal.

This is why I believe Roblox Staff needs to check the accounts directly and confirm what is actually keeping them deleted.
