Crown doesn’t follow head on Empyrean Reign of Awesomeness

The Back Accessory Empyrean Reign of Awesomeness crown (from the classic event) sits on your head but only moves when your torso moves, not your head, so it looks off when walking or idling.

For comparison, The Empyrean Reignment (Hat accessory) moves correctly with the head

Video comparison:
1 .Empyrean Reignment crown moves with head

  1. Empyrean Reign of Awesomeness crown follows the torso, not head

It would be great if this one was changed to a Hat accessory so it works properly.

Every accessory in the series except the original is attached to the back. I don’t know if it looks better being attached to the head or back. I feel like it would make more sense if they were all attached to the head, like the original.

Would the series would look better if they were attached to the head or back?

Well, the hat and wings are the same accessory right?

If so, then it moving with the head instead of the torso would result in the wings looking really weird, like clipping into the player’s back and floating out behind them if the head was moving/rotating and the torso wasn’t.

You’re right that neither option is perfect, but attaching it as a hat accessory with the wings moving off the body does look a bit better. (IMO, at least, or I’m just so used to the original Empyrean Reignment setup that I don’t even notice the issue there anymore)

Regardless, I don’t think Roblox will be making this update. They’ve said it is difficult/impossible to change an accessory type once it is published and distributed.

Thank you for your report. We won’t be making an update at this time. To be fair, this probably should’ve been 2 Accessories bundled together.

But we think the original intention of attaching it to the back makes sense, especially when the Head turns during look arounds. Also, because the crown is floating above the head, the crown doesn’t really interesect with anything during the basic motions. Correct us if we’re wrong though.

Glaring is correct. We can’t change Accessory Types once released. But we can change attachment points if necessary and when it makes sense.

Thanks for your understanding.

I played around with the attachments in Studio to see what it would look like, and published ‘fixed’ HatAttachment versions of both Empyrean Reign of Awesomeness and the gold track counterpart to the model toolbox: https://create.roblox.com/store/asset/86224504495625

There is definitely some clipping of the wings through the torso when using a HatAttachment, but the upside is that the crown sits properly on the head and doesn’t shake anymore like in the 2nd video above.

I do prefer the HatAttachment version, and it feels right having it match the behavior of the original 2009 accessory it’s based on. But ultimately it is a subjective change so I can understand if you guys don’t want to update this for everyone.
